Adopt a MetaPal & Tutorial
You can start by installing the MetaPals Kennel browser extension from the Google Chrome store here. You can also visit the MetaPals website to learn more about MetaPals and click the 'Adopt Now' button to get to the MetaPals Kennel Chrome Store page. After successfully downloading the MetaPals Kennel browser extension , you can create your MetaPals account and proceed to adopt your desired MetaPal.
Yes, you'll need to sign up for a MetaPals account using an email address - otherwise there's nowhere to bind your MetaPal to in our system!
Steps to start your paw-some journey with your MetaPal:
  1. Download and Install the MetaPal Kennel browser extension
    The kennel will be your MetaPal's new home on your screen. You can install them from the Google Chrome store.
  2. Create a MetaPal Account
    After the kennel is successfully installed, you'll be directed to create your MetaPal account to get started. If the sign-in page does not appear, open the MetaPals Kennel extension and click the 'Get Started' button.
  3. Get the welcome gift from Tao, the Tabby Cat
    Tao is happy to get to know you. She has brought you some gifts to help you adopting your first MetaPal. Make sure you collect them all.
  4. Adopt a MetaPal via the Adoption Center
    Click on the boxes to reveal the hidden MetaPals. Before clicking the adopt button, read their profile to learn more about their identity. Keep in mind that you can only have one MetaPal!
  5. Pave Your Paw-some Journey
    Now that you've chosen your MetaPal, it's time to get to know them. Follow the tutorial to get to know your MetaPal by naming, feeding, and playing with them.
Sounds like it's a technical issue. If you've already tried removing and re-adding to Chrome, report the issue via our Support page. You can refer to this guide to learn how to create a bug ticket.
You can only adopt one MetaPal.
Don't worry! You can help your lost MetaPal find you by taking these following steps:
  1. Check that you have clicked on the 'Adopt' button on your chosen MetaPal profile in the Adoption Center.
  2. Clicking on the Adopt button will take you to The Sanctuary to meet your MetaPal. There, you can name your MetaPal to call them out.
If your MetaPals still haven't appeared after you've completed both steps above, please file a ticket on our Support page. Attaching screenshot images or screen recordings of your problem will help us better assist you. Thank you for your patience!
You can refer your friend to MetaPals by getting your unique referral link from your email inbox (it may be in Spam) and sending it to him/her!
Google Chrome is where our MetaPals are most comfortable, but you can also use other Chromium-based browsers listed HERE.

Gameplay & Features
Click on the Chrome extension menu and then the MetaPals icon to load the Kennel on your screen. It helps also to pin the MetaPals extension so you can access the Kennel with just one click! You can learn how to do it HERE.
Click on the yellow bell on the Kennel, and your MetaPal should appear in a few seconds. If this doesn't work, please submit a ticket HERE.
Dark Matter is the one of the two ingame currencies, represented visually by spacey-looking purple balls. Currently, only 1 Dark Matter will appear at 3-minute intervals on the bottom left of your browser screen, but you can also collect them via Daily Rewards or earn them through events and activities.
The Appetite meter is represented by the Treat icon on the Care Index Score and tracks your MetaPal's hunger level. You can increase the meter by feeding it either Food or Snacks.
The Energy meter is represented by the Health icon on the Care Index Score and tracks your MetaPal's energy level. You can increase the meter by right-clicking on the MetaPal and selecting the Night-time icon to put it to sleep.
The Happiness meter is represented by the Smiley Face icon on the Care Index Score and tracks your MetaPal's happiness level. You can increase the meter by hover over pet and move your cursor in a side to side or up and down motion to your MetaPal to pat it, or picking it up by clicking and holding on it.
There are two ways to feed your MetaPal.
  1. Kennel Inventory
    A backpack icon on the left side of the kennel functions as your MetaPal inventory. Clicking on the backpack icon will open your inventory rack containing the consumables (food) and wearables (accessories). Drag and drop the pet food or snacks icon from the shelf to your MetaPal to feed them.
  2. Pet Shortcut
    Right-click your pet to see a shortcut command for your pet. On the circular menu, select the pet food or pet snacks icon to drop the food for your pet. These options will only be available if you have food and snacks in your inventory.
The Care Index Score tracks the overall wellbeing of your MetaPal by looking at main needs: Appetite, Happiness, and Energy. By looking at the meter bars, you can check if your MetaPal requires food, play or sleep. When one of the meters runs low, you can complete the corresponding actions, i.e. feeding, playing, or putting it to sleep, to increase and maintain a healthy score.
Hover your cursor over your MetaPal, and move it either in an up-and-down or left-and-right motion.
Right-click on your MetaPal and select the night-time icon from the quick access menu.
Keep an eye on the care index score to see how your MetaPal is doing throughout the day. In subsequent updates, we will be adding pet facial expressions and behaviors so there are visual indications for their corresponding needs.
You can purchase Food from the Vending Machine (Quick Treats) in the Sanctuary, or claim it on select days as a Daily Reward.

MetaPals will not die, but instead will run away in future updates when the Care Index Score drops to a certain level for a consistent period of time. That said, all your actions will still affect its levelling experience and subsequently the amount of rewards unlocked from the levelling system, so we encourage you to take care of your MetaPal well and keep the Care Index Score green!
Daily Rewards are various items you can claim for free once every day. You can view the Daily Reward schedule by clicking on your MetaPal's name tag on the Kennel. The 7-day schedule will be refreshed at the end of every week at UTC 00:00hrs.
MetaPals are like real-life pets that can be sold, fostered, or adopted by anyone. We are currently developing the mechanics for these, so stay tuned for more updates to come!

Routines
The three sections of routines in the pet game are Freebies, Daily Mission, and Monthly Mission.
The Freebies section of the pet game contains two types of rewards that players can claim for free: Daily Log In Streak and Daily Drops.
The Daily Log In Streak starts from day 1, and the user should keep logging in the next day to increase the streak. If they break the streak, it restarts from day 1. The higher the streak, the bigger the rewards. The rewards include various items and in-game currency.
The Daily Log In Streak and Daily Drops are reset every day at 00:00 UTC.
The Daily Drops in the pet game contain rewards that can be claimed according to the day. For example, if the user is online on Monday, they can claim Monday's Daily Drops. The rewards include various items and in-game currency.
The Daily Mission section of the pet game contains six missions that reset every day at 00:00 UTC. Completing these missions can earn you 20 Dark Matter per mission.

The Daily Mission tasks include:
  • Spend 3 hours with MetaPal.
  • Feed MetaPal 5 times.
  • Pat MetaPal 5 times.
  • Pick up MetaPal 10 times.
  • Reach care index score above 90.
Make sure that your MetaPal is on your screen for 3 hours. If your MetaPal disappears, just click on the bell from the kennel to call MetaPal back. You can always dismiss your pet anytime when you need to focus.
To feed MetaPal, open your inventory and drag and drop food or snacks to MetaPal. Make sure the food is successfully consumed entirely. If you have no food, you can visit the Vending Machine (Quick Treats) in the sanctuary or by clicking on the shopping cart icon beneath the kennel. Make sure that you feed them 5 times!
To pat your MetaPal, hover over your MetaPal in any direction to give them a pat. Pat them at least 5 times a day to make them happy! Your MetaPal loves a good pat.
To pick up your MetaPal, just drag and drop your MetaPal on your screen.
The Care Index score is an accumulative score that measures how well you take care of your MetaPal. It takes into account factors such as feeding, patting, and playing with your MetaPal. Make sure to keep your MetaPal's appetite, energy, and mood meters full, energized, and happy to reach a Care Index score above 90. You can check your Care Index score from your kennel icon.
You can earn 20 Dark Matter per mission for completing the Daily Missions each day.
The Monthly Mission is a set of six goals that players can complete each day to earn rewards throughout the month. The mission resets at the beginning of each month.
The six goals for the Monthly Mission are: Daily Energy Boost, Daily Full Bellies, Daily Dose of Happy, Claim Daily Rewards, Spend Dark Matter, and Daily Visit Sanctuary.
To complete the Daily Energy Boost goal, you need to reach full energy meter once per day. This goal has three milestone points: 7x, 14x, and 20x. Each milestones gives more rewards!
To complete the Daily Full Bellies goal, you need to fill your MetaPal's appetite meter to 100% once per day. This goal also has three milestone points: 7x, 14x, and 20x. Each milestones gives more rewards!
To complete the Daily Dose of Happy goal, you need to fill your MetaPal's mood meter to 100% once per day. This goal also has three milestone points: 7x, 14x, and 20x. Each milestones gives more rewards!
To claim the Daily Rewards, you need to log in each day and claim the reward for that day. The reward can only be claimed once per day and there are milestone rewards for claiming the reward seven, fourteen, and twenty times.
To complete the Spend Dark Matter goal, you need to spend a certain amount of Dark Matter. There are three milestone points: 1000, 3000, and 7000 Dark Matter. There is no limit to how much you can spend each day.
To complete the Daily Visit Sanctuary goal, you need to visit the sanctuary once per day. There are milestone rewards for visiting five, fourteen, and twenty times.
To claim the ultimate reward for the monthly mission, simply ensure that you have reached 100% completion by claiming the last milestone for all missions. Once you have achieved this, the ultimate reward will be available for you to claim

It's easy! Just take a look at the bar indicator circle point on your monthly mission screen. If the point is still visible, that means you haven't completed the mission yet for that day. If the point has disappeared, congratulations! You've completed the mission for the day.
Don't worry, you can still catch up! Simply complete the mission on a different day to get back on track. However, please note that if you don't complete all the missions by the end of the month, you may not be eligible for the rewards.
